Lexington, KY – May 14, 2024 – Kentucky Horse Shows LLC is pleased to announce that the prize list for the Kentucky Summer Horse Show and Kentucky Summer Classic is now available online. Presented by Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital and scheduled for July 24 – 28 and July 30 – August 4, 2024, respectively, each week will feature world-class hunter/jumper competition at the prestigious Kentucky Horse Park. Online entries will open on May 24 at Show Management Systems.
The first week of competition, the Kentucky Summer Horse Show, will kick off Wednesday, July 24. Jumper highlights include Thursday’s $25,000 Kentucky Summer Classic and Saturday’s $50,000 Rood and Riddle Kentucky Grand Prix.
The Kentucky Summer Horse Show will also be a World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) member event, where riders can earn valuable points towards year-end awards. There will be a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby, a USHJA Pony Hunter Derby, and classics in all the rated hunter divisions.
Competition will continue the following week with the Kentucky Summer Classic, which will take place from July 30 – August 4. Once again, the $25,000 Summer Classic will take center stage in the Rolex Area on Thursday night. On Saturday, jumper riders will return for the $50,000 Kentucky Summer Grand Prix.
The premier rated hunter competition will feature the $7,500 USHJA Open National Hunter Derby Open and the $7,500 USHJA Junior/Amateur National Hunter Derby, in addition to classics in the rated divisions. Both shows are qualifying events for the WIHS and NAL, and junior riders can prepare for the 2024 USEF Pony Finals, scheduled for August 6 – 11, 2024.
