Lexington, Ky. – Aug 5, 2021 – Ponies took to the Claiborne Ring at the Kentucky Horse Park show grounds on Thursday afternoon where large ponies competed for the victory in the USEF Large Pony Medal. Jole Kosloske and Chic In Time emerged victorious, while Claire Marie Diamond rode Stoneledge Special Request to second place and Camilla Jerng rode Deniro to third place.

Course designer Jason Shelley set an 8-fence round with a test built in to assess a total of 45 pairs. The course featured multiple rollbacks and a trot fence followed by a two-stride combination that required precise execution. Riders were then asked to halt after fence six before proceeding with the rest of the course.

Jole Kosloske and Chic In Time
A seamless trip led Kosloske and Chic In Time to the winning ribbon. Chic In Time, a 14-year-old German Riding Pony gelding owned by Kosloske, has earned the pair numerous wins in the Large Pony division, despite them having a fairly new partnership. His expressive jump and gleaming palomino coat make him a showstopper in and out of the arena. Thursday’s win has given Kosloske added confidence as the pair prepare to compete during 2021 USEF Pony Finals in less than one week.

The second place ribbon was awarded to Diamond and Stoneledge Special Request, a 14-year-old Welsh Pony cross owned by Diamond. Stoneledge Special Request has successfully competed in the Large Pony division with placings in multiple derbies and medal classes. Following behind in third place was Jerng and Deniro, a 7-year-old German Riding Pony owned by Jerng. The gelding is consistent within the Large and Green Pony divisions with Jerng.
