The Kentucky Spring Horse Show closed out in the Rolex Stadium on Sunday with the $35,000 Commonwealth Grand Prix, sponsored by Audi of Lexington. With 44 starters challenging each other, it was Darragh Kenny that once again could not be beat in the jump-off, this time winning with Vlock Show Stables’ Scarlett Du Sart Z. Kenny also walked away with the Leading Open Jumper Rider Award, sponsored by Envisian Products, after accumulating the most points through his top placings in the Welcome Speed, Hagyard Lexington Classic, Kentucky Spring Grand Prix, and Sunday’s grand prix.

Sunday competition at the Kentucky Spring Horse Show highlighted top hunter horses in the Stonelea Ring with the $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, presented by Dietrich Equine Insurance, and the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby, sponsored by World Equestrian Center and Kentucky Horse Shows, to conclude the week’s competition. Havens Schatt and Spectacular claimed the international derby win while Jeff Gogul preserved his title as the national hunter derby champion.

Darragh Kenny Defends His Title With Babalou 41 in $134,000 Kentucky Spring Grand Prix PDF Print E-mail

Saturday evening at the Kentucky Spring Horse Show saw the return of the $134,000 Kentucky Spring Grand Prix CSI3* in the Rolex Stadium. After 93 entries tried their hand in the grand prix qualifier Thursday night, 49 horse-and-rider combinations returned to the ring in top form, attempting to walk away with the lion’s share of the prize money. Following a competitive seven-horse jump-off, it was Darragh Kenny (IRL) and Jack Snyder’s Babalou 41 who came back with a vengeance to earn a repeat victory after earning a top spot in the grand prix during the 2018 Kentucky Spring Horse Show.

Becky Gochman and Catch Me Claim Grand Amateur-Owner Hunter Championship PDF Print E-mail

The amateur-owner divisions at the Kentucky Spring Horse Show concluded in the Stonelea Ring on Saturday with the awarding of the Grand Amateur-Owner Hunter Championship. Presented to the rider who accumulated the most points over the course of competition Friday and Saturday in applicable divisions, the award was chased by a high number of entries across various hunter divisions. After two days of consistent rounds, Becky Gochman and Catch Me couldn’t be caught, capturing all five Amateur-Owner 3’6” Hunter classes to earn the Amateur-Owner 3’6” Hunter Championship and ultimately claim the Grand Amateur-Owner Hunter Championship, generously sponsored by Visse Wedell.
